Broken Egg Games: Battlefield Water Feature Scenery Reviewed!

Today we will take a closer look at the Battlefield Water Feature scenery made by the new American company Broken Egg Games. Broken Egg Games currently produces all sorts of interesting miniature wargame-related products such as miniature display trays, gaming markers and tokens, scenery and next to this they also offer a service for custom markers and tokens.

Delivery and packaging

The reviewed pieces were send directly from the Broken Egg Games premises in the United States and had to cross the big pond to reach my doorstep. Luckily through the good packaging the resin water features all arrived in pristine condition.

The Battlefield Water Feature

The battlefield water feature is currently the only product in their area terrain range but hopefully they will add more nice features in the near future. The actual product consist out of two resin pools as you can see in  the picture which have to bought individually. I have also added an 28mm sized miniature to give you an idea of the size.

As you can see in the detailled pictures below each of the pools is decorated with a wide variety of bits and pieces such as felled trees, rocks, roots and planks. A nice touch is that the earth detail wasn't created by glueing on sand but is actually directly sculpted directly onto the master model.

The casting of these pieces is good with only minimal flash around the edges of the pools. This can however easily be removed using a sharp hobby knife or some viles. As you can see in the pictures there are also air bubbles present, these can be filled with some cheap model clay or greenstuff.

But that said most of these air bubbles are really small and shouldn't be to noticable when you have painted up the pieces and they are used on the tabletop. I must however note that the water surface on the received models were entireless air bubble free.

These detailled resin terrain pieces are now available for only $15.00 a piece or cheaper when buying two in the Broken Egg Games webstore. Interested in these pieces or other affordable objective pieces for your miniature terrain collection, take a look here and when you decide to buy make sure to mention our review on Wargame News and Terrain!

I hadn't got any spare time to paint up the pieces and even if I had found some time. I wouldn't be able to match the excellent paintjob as shown in their webstore. I have kindly borrowed the following picture of the Broken Egg Games website to show you how they look painted.

The conclusion

As you can see in this illustrated review, these scenic pieces are amongst the most detailled water features I have seen commercially available. So these may not be the cheapest ones available they are surely among the nicest ones I have encountered in the industry. The overall service by the Broken Egg Games crew was swift and everything arrived in pristine condition. You can grab these pieces here among other interesting bits and pieces.
