Wargames Factory: Exclusive Plastic Apocalypse Biker Gang Sprue Previewed at Salute

Looking around on Salute, I spotted this interesting plastic apocalypse biker gang sprue laying around on a random demonstration table. A quick look and some pictures revealed that the sprue was made by Wargames Factory.

In the picture we can clearly see that the sprue contains enough parts to make two motorcycles consisting out of a body with separate front wheel, exhaust pipe and fork. Next to this we can  spot all sorts of post-apoc weaponry ranging from savage handweapons to rifles and machineguns.

Looking at the actual miniatures you can see that each bike can be mounted by two miniatures while the sprue also contains four dismounted miniatures. My guess and desire would be that most of these parts will be interchangeable with the exciting post-apocalypse male and female survivor sets. ooking forward in seeing this set being released and creating the world of Mad Max and the like!

From Paul over at Wargames Factory: "Nice scoop on Wargame Terrain's part! I'm not sure if that sprue was meant to be left out or not. Wai Kee was at Salute this week meeting with various companies and I imagine they showed off some samples. I just barely got some samples of that kit myself. We won't be releasing the kit for a while yet. Production of the sprues is just getting started, box art and instructions are pending etc.

That said they're rather customize-able. You can change their look with the following:

  • 3 different fork styles, 1 is an extended fork for a "chopper" look.
  • 2 different styles of mufflers
  • 2 optional sissy bars or bed roll instead
  • 2 types of bags or a gas tank to glue behind the sissy bars (or elsewhere, IE - file off the front lamp and mount them on the front forks)
  • optional rear side bags
  • Rifle in its sheath designed to glue to the right fork.

Wargame Terrain described it pretty well. The kits obviously an expansion into our Dark Futures line. The torsos and arms are for the most part interchangeable (one or two of the arms are a bit body specific). The kit will contain 3 of the sprue. Six motorcycles, twelve Figures, two per bike or some standing. The women in the kit can be passengers or there is a set of female driving legs and arms."

This is great news!

I understand why companies need to keep their release schedules quiet, but this makes me very happy. I'm hoping for a release before the end of the year.

It is looking forward in seeing this being released but Paul from Wargames Factory says it will take a while to get it released.
